Who we are

An archive,
not an audience.

Youth-led, volunteer-run, working from wherever our people are.

T.F.A is an “archive” rather than a fully creator-based youth-led foundation.

We’re an awareness account that aims to encourage the public to take active initiatives, all while bringing true impact to the world through a community-led system: every contributor is a leader in today’s world. This includes actions such as, but not limited to, boycotting and pressuring large corporations to choose the right path.

We search the internet for people in need — those who struggle in conflict, poverty, or other issues — and help boost their story.

Always feel free to interact with us, and don’t be afraid to reach out if you’re interested in collaborating or joining us.

Archiving our stories both today and tomorrow,The T.F.A team

What we do

We find the story, we ask first, and we carry it further.

i — Search

We go looking

We search for people in need — those struggling in conflict, poverty, or other issues — along with the statistics and the ongoing issues behind them.

ii — Ask

We ask permission

We reach out to creators and organisations before anything is shared. Nobody’s story goes on our page without their say-so — that’s the whole difference between amplifying someone and taking from them.

iii — Boost

We boost it

Written, illustrated, designed and edited, then pushed to every audience we can reach — online and offline — so it lands with people who can act on it.

From the archive

Menna cooks, and the whole street can smell it.

Menna is an 11-year-old girl and the youngest sister of a family of eight, currently living in a tent in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. Before the evacuation they lived in the Al-Amal neighbourhood — it has been completely reduced to rubble and has since lost its livability.

Despite their hardships, Menna and her family continue to find joy in life. For Menna, that joy is cooking. She shares it on her Instagram, posting new recipes almost daily, with a bright smile on her face.

Even here, under the scorching summer heat, the tents are unbearable, but we have no alternative and nowhere else to go. — Bara’a Al-Hindi

What we’ve carried so far.

Campaigns, explainers and interviews we’ve researched, made or amplified — across humanitarian work, health, mental health, education and media literacy. Shared creators are always asked first, and they stay independent of us: resharing is not endorsement in either direction.

Departments

Seven ways in.

Applications are open for every department below, and the form is always open. Pick one category to start — you can apply for another once you’ve submitted the first.

TFA / 01

Writers

The core of our organization. Writers are responsible for researching, drafting, and organizing content across our platforms.

TFA / 02

Promotion Staff

Focused on spreading awareness of our initiatives and content, and helping campaigns reach a wider audience across all platforms — whether online or offline.

TFA / 03

Outreach Officers

Building connections with external organizations, partners and communities — forming collaborations and reaching out to individual creators for permission to repost their content as a way of sharing their campaign.

TFA / 04

Content Researching Department

Responsible for gathering accurate, relevant and up-to-date information to support our organization’s work — statistics, ongoing issues, and creators who would like their campaign or story shared.

TFA / 05

Artists Department

A combination of multiple creative roles, covering everything visual that we publish.

  • Graphic Design
  • Illustration
  • Character Design
  • Storyboard
  • Concept Art
TFA / 06

Marketing Managers

Analysing trends and audience interests to understand what people are most responsive to, and developing strategies that boost engagement of the page.

TFA / 07

Editors

In charge of bringing content to life — editing on CapCut, Figma, Canva and more. You may occasionally be asked to make layouts and related content.

Chapter Heads

Take it to your region.

Ahead of the official applications release, you can apply to lead a chapter without doing the forms. Bring a team, and take the work somewhere it hasn’t reached yet.

The first chapter heads of a region become that region’s TFA representative.

Requirements
  • 01 A team of 3 or more members
  • 02 Online or offline — both work
  • 03 An Instagram account
  • 04 2+ hours a week
  • 05 Age 13 or over

Before you apply

Read this part properly.

These are the terms of the application. They exist because the work is real — and so is the trust people place in us when they hand us their story.

Commitment

At least one hour a week

Applicants must dedicate a minimum of an hour a week, and complete all given tasks before the deadline.

Pay

This is volunteer work

Every role at True Friend is unpaid. You apply because you want the work done.

Language

English

Applicants must be familiar with English. It doesn’t need to be your first language — it’s just our main language of communication, so try your best.

Platforms

Instagram and / or Discord

You need one of them. If you only have Discord and can’t access Instagram, say so in your application.

Originality

No AI. None.

We do not tolerate any use of AI. Suspicious applications may be subject to an interview to prove the originality of your work, or voided outright.

Honesty

Your application is a promise

Be honest. If your work as a member doesn’t match the quality of your application, you may be removed from your post.

Conduct

Stay professional

We’re looking for dedicated members who are both mature and capable.

Outcome

You’ll hear within two weeks

Successful applicants are notified individually, by both Gmail and Instagram, within two weeks of submitting.

The form is always open, and it’s built for a desktop or laptop — you’ll have an easier time on a computer than a phone. You don’t have to use your real name; an alias is fine, we just need an identifier. Age is optional. Being on camera is optional too.

Get involved

Help at whatever size you’ve got.
